Emir of Bauchi Endorses Lead Generation Initiative as the NGO Visits Him

The Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu has joined the list of prominent individuals who have identified with the Lead Generation Initiative (LGI), a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization, for its numerous laudable programs targeted at providing opportunities for the youth to be actively involved in the nation-building right from their immediate localities.

The Emir made his stand known when the management team of the LGI paid him a courtesy visit in his palace during the third and fourth editions of the Get Involved Leadership Training (GILT) of the NGO held in Bauchi on 27th and 28th November 2020.

His Royal Highness, who overwhelmingly received the LGI team led by its Board of Trustees Chairman, Hon. Shina Peller commended the NGO for providing such a great platform like GILT where young people are adequately trained on leadership, good governance, effective communication skills required of great leaders.

Speaking on behalf of the LGI team, Hon. Shina Peller expressed his profound gratitude to His Royal Highness for the overwhelming reception given to the team and for identifying with its laudable programs particularly the Get Involved Leadership Training which is scheduled to hold in all the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The GiLT is a train-the-trainer leadership workshop, where participants having been adequately trained on effective leadership skills, strategic communication, active citizenship, and nation-building, return to their various local governments to replicate the training for the larger participants at the local government and ward level.

The first edition took place in Ibadan, Oyo state on 4th and 5th September 2020 with 68 participants drawn from each of the 33 local governments of the state. The second edition of the GILT took place in Osogbo, Osun state on 7th and 8th October 2020 with 80 participants drawn across all the local government areas of the state. The third and fourth editions took place in Bauchi on 27th and 28th November 2020 with participants drawn from Bauchi and Gombe states including selected representatives from each of the 19 northern states as well as the FCT.
